— B E N E A T H —

Beneath is a macroscopic exploration of speculative biology and organic form. Rendered entirely in 3D, the short film functions as a slow, deliberate study of hyper-detailed textures and undulating surfaces.

The piece isolates the viewer with a continuously morphing topography of flesh, hide, and membrane. Drawing aesthetic inspiration from the complex dermis of reptiles and the imagined anatomy of mythological, otherworldly entities, the film focuses entirely on the tactile quality of these skins.
The surfaces appear at once familiar and alien, characterized by deep folds, subtle sheens, and rough, leathery ridges.

The pacing of Beneath is deliberately meditative. Through an incredibly slow-moving camera and the subtle, seamless morphing of the 3D surfaces, the film invites a state of deep observation. Rather than overwhelming the viewer with sudden movements, it uses shadow, shallow depth of field, and gradual transformation to highlight the intricate interplay of light across dark, organic matter.

It is a quiet, visceral study that transforms grotesque or unsettling inspirations
into a mesmerizing display of pure texture and form.
